Angela Constance MSP popped in to meet staff and volunteers at River Kids ahead of their annual sale to raise funds for their charity. River Kids were formed 15 years ago and provide an excellent support network across West Lothian helping disadvantaged kids and their families, ensuring no child goes without at Christmas time, or their birthdays.
The charity currently have 9 volunteers working around the clock to prepare gifts for families who are struggling. Unfortunately they have since an increase in requests for help jump from helping over 1300 children in 2019 to over 1800 in 2020.
Commenting Ms Constance said "I have been a huge supporter of River Kids since I was first elected to Parliament in 2007. They provide a vital service to families across Almond Valley and the wider community, many of whom would miss out at Christmas time without their kindness and support. That's why I was delighted to lodge a motion of congratulations in recognition of their efforts and to outline the excellent work staff and volunteers do on a daily basis."
