ANGELA CONSTANCE MSP VISITS FIRST BUS RECRUITMENT ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2022
Almond Valley MSP Angela Constance celebrated International Women’s Day 2022 at a local recruitment event for First Buses at their Livingston Depot.
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of Women, as well as a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
This First Bus event aimed to do just that, looking to encourage more women to become bus drivers across Scotland. It also aimed to highlight the opportunities for females within this industry to progress and succeed.
Following her visit, Ms Constance said
“International Women’s Day marks the progress that has been made but also focuses on the journey we have yet to travel to achieve full equality for women. I am therefore delighted to support First Bus and their efforts to recruit more women into their workforce and encourage more women into the sector.”
During her visit, Ms Constance was also given the opportunity to experience sitting in the driver's seat of a First Bus (picture attached), where, hopefully, many women can follow suit as a result of this event.
