Almond Valley MSP Angela Constance visited Open Door Scotland (formerly Open Door Accommodation Project) in Livingston to mark Living Wage Week.
Open Door is one of 2800 accredited Living Wage employers in Scotland and has supported young people affected by homelessness for 35 years. They provide accommodation as well as community outreach support.
During the visit, Angela Constance MSP said -
"Fair pay is a fundamental part of fair work and Open Door is an exemplary third sector organisation that are an accredited living wage employer as well as supporting young people who experience homelessness. For the past 35 years Open Door have accommodated and supported countless young people in West Lothian. As well as providing accommodation the staff at Open Door also provide invaluable support to enable young people to access education, employment and to overcome other difficulties. I want to thank the all the staff at Open Door for all their work past, present and future. "
