SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT UNVEIL NEW SUPPORT FOR START-UPS IN ALMOND VALLEY

SCOTLAND REMAINS TOP PLACE FOR INVESTMENT 

The Scottish Government has introduced fresh assistance for start-up companies. Angela Constance MSP welcomed the Deputy First Minister's revelation of a £5 million investment to support the growth and development of high-growth businesses. This initiative encompasses funding for pre-start-up support and enhanced investment in Scottish EDGE, a business funding competition. 

Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes announced these measures to ensure that “innovation is at the very heart of our economy.” This package comes as figures show that Scotland once again attracted the highest number of UK financial services foreign direct investment (FDI) projects outside of London – highlighting that Scotland continues to be an attractive destination for economic investment. 

Commenting, Angela Constance MSP said: 

"In Almond Valley, we possess the talent, skills, and resources needed to foster a robust and dynamic start-up economy. The funding provided by the Scottish Government marks a significant milestone in enhancing opportunities and nurturing start-up networks throughout Almond Valley. In a period where Scotland is emerging as an appealing hub for economic investments, the Scottish Government remains committed to prioritizing economic growth through proactive measures."
