Angela Constance, MSP for Almond Valley, has congratulated pupils across Almond Valley as they receive their exam results.
Around 145,000 students across Scotland have achieved a wide range of results across National 4 and 5s, Highers and Advanced Highers. These results have ensured that a record number, 31,220 Scottish students, will be going to university this September – this includes a 12% increase in students from more deprived areas.
Pupils who are unsure about what their results mean for them are also being encouraged to contact Skills Development Scotland on 0808 100 8000 who will be able to provide advice on future career options.
Commenting, the MSP for Almond Valley said:
“I warmly congratulate all pupils in Almond Valley on their exam results, which reflect hard work and dedication to education. The results from the 11 secondary schools in West Lothian have shown improvement on key indicators of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework, despite the challenging educational environment caused by the pandemic. It is commendable to see more S5 and S6 pupils achieving Level 6 qualifications, including Highers, as well as increases in Higher Maths achievements and the number of pupils attaining five or more Level 6 qualifications.”
“The positive trends in exam results are encouraging, particularly with a record number of young Scots progressing to university, including those from deprived backgrounds. This achievement is a testament to the resilience and determination of students in Almond Valley and they should be proud of their accomplishments in the face of adversity.”
