Scottish Government has allocated £137,897 in funding for NHS Lothian's Hospital at Home service
Angela Constance, MSP for Almond Valley, has welcomed the Scottish Government's announcement of £137,897 in funding for NHS Lothian’s Hospital at Home service. This service provides a safe alternative to acute hospital admissions, with nearly 15,000 older patients benefiting from it across Scotland in 2023/24.
The funding is part of a £3.6 million investment across Scotland and will support the continuation and expansion of programs that have eased pressure on frontline acute services.
Commenting on the funding, Angela Constance MSP said:
"The Scottish Government is focused on improving public services. Funding for the Hospital at Home service in Almond Valley will let more people get treatment at home. This investment will help more residents access the service, which helps older people recover independently and reduces the need for hospital stays or care homes for up to six months after an illness. This is one of the steps taken by the Scottish Government to reduce delays in discharges and free up hospital beds. It's good to see ongoing investment in public services despite budget cuts from Westminster."
