Angela Constance, MSP for Almond Valley, welcomes the Scottish Government’s announcement of an additional £30 million to reduce NHS waiting times. This funding is expected to significantly boost NHS activity, including 12,000 more procedures, 40,000 extra diagnostic procedures, and 12,000 new outpatient appointments.
Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Neil Gray, stated, “This action will help Scotland’s NHS maximize capacity, build greater resilience, and deliver year-on-year reductions in the number of patients who have waited too long for treatment.”
Angela Constance MSP commented,
“It is clear that improving public services is a key priority for the Scottish government, and reducing NHS waiting lists in Almond Valley is at the heart of this commitment. This targeted £30 million investment will ensure that people in Almond Valley have greater access to appointments and procedures, continuing the work to reduce the number of people waiting too long for treatment. I am pleased to see the Scottish Government investing in our public services—against the backdrop of further cuts from Westminster. First Minister John Swinney is determined to deliver first-rate public services. This funding will ensure that the public has access to a health service that works for them.”
