Angela Constance MSP nominates Almond Valley, Local Hero

Almond Valley Local Hero, Nancy MacGillivray of the Caledonian Credit Union makes a positive difference to the lives of others has been nominated as a Local Hero by Angela Constance MSP

In May all 129 MSPs were invited to nominate a constituent who makes a positive difference to the lives of others – often with little recognition - as their Local Hero.

Taking place on Saturday 28^th September, all Local Heroes will make a contribution to a special commemorative event to mark the 25th anniversary of The Scottish Parliament, taking place in the Debating Chamber.

Angela Constance MSP said:

“As the Scottish Parliament prepares to mark its 25th anniversary, it’s right that the people of Scotland are placed at the heart of our events.

“Together with my fellow MSPs, we want to celebrate the achievements of our Local Heroes from across every constituency and region in Scotland.

This year, the Caledonian Credit Union celebrated a remarkable achievement of 25 years. Starting as a small seed as Livingston North Credit Union, it has grown into a flourishing oak, offering opportunities and assistance to countless individuals. A sincere thank you to all involved in this achievement, particularly Nancy, who was my local hero when I was first elected in 2007. It is fitting that she returns to mark this special occasion.”
