Livindians Charity and Badminton Tournament Raises Funds for British Heart Foundation

The Livindians Charity and Badminton Tournament brought the community together again for sports and charity. This year's event saw great participation, with tasty Indian food and a raffle with amazing prizes, raising about £3,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Funds raised will help the BHF combat heart and circulatory diseases. Community support is vital, allowing BHF to fund research and develop treatments. For example, just £24 can fund two hours of research by a young scientist, highlighting the impact of every donation.

Special guests included:

• Hon. Mr. Azad Singh, Consul, Consulate General of India, Scotland
• Hon. Ms. Angela Constance, MSP, Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs, Scotland

Mr. Azad Singh said, “We’re not just playing a game; we're part of saving lives.” Angela Constance MSP added, “The Livindians are making a transformative impact through sports. Their dedication inspires, as they excel and uplift their communities. I encourage everyone to visit the JustGiving page and share it. I was proud to present the women's award, recognizing these athletes' achievements. Their stories show the positive change sports can bring.”

Ms. Nichola Doughan and her daughter Scarlett from the Scarlett Fund attended to raise awareness for Paediatric Heart Research.

The tournament raised £3,822 for the BHF, supporting essential research and initiatives against heart disease.
