Angela Constance MSP has welcomed the Scottish Government’s £2.4 million funding boost to support organisations tackling violence against women and girls across Scotland. This additional investment brings the total Delivering Equally Safe fund to £21.6 million for the year ahead, subject to approval of the 2025-26 Scottish Budget.
In West Lothian, the funding will directly support:
West Lothian Council – £203,687
West Lothian Women’s Aid – £84,332
Angela Constance MSP praised the work of local organisations, saying:
"Grassroots organisations across West Lothian are at the heart of tackling violence against women and girls. Their work is fundamental to creating a country free from gender-based abuse. This funding boost will help prevent abuse from occurring and ensure that women and girls who have experienced violence can continue to access the support they deserve. The Scottish Government remains committed to eradicating gender-based violence, and I will continue to stand with survivors and the organisations working tirelessly to support them.”
